Bird Woodcarving for Kids - Pigeon (Rock Dove). Welcome to the wonderful world of birds and woodcarving! During this 5 week course, students will learn the basics of using rotary carving tools safely while creating their very own "silhouette style" Pigeon (Rock Dove). After carving and sanding, participants will use acrylic paints to finish this vibrant and beautiful work of art. We will then mount them on pieces of driftwood. All carving and painting techniques will be taught in a step by step style and there is also opportunity to be creative! As class size is limited to just 4 students, there will be lots of opportunities to engage with the instructor and get any help needed. All materials supplied and students will keep their finished project. A fantastic introduction to woodcarving for kids aged 11-18, as rotary tools are a great entry point into the world of making things out of wood in an affordable way with little safety risk. No previous woodworking or painting experience required.
