Service Description
Do you enjoy nature and admire the beauty that surrounds us? Do you like knowing what plant it is you are looking at while you walk around our beautiful forests? This class focuses on your own admiration for nature and capturing the finer details that make each plant unique. Students will meet at the Beaver Lodge Lands (parking on Task Rd off of Merecroft Rd) and walk in together to an area where we can get comfortable and focus on one plant form, working in pencil, micron pen, and watercolour to render the details of our plant of choice. Students will also have the opportunity to identify their plant of choice using "Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast" identification book by Lone Pine with assistance from Madeleine. Get ready to unleash your inner botanist and get closer to nature! Be ready to walk for around 20 minutes, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a folding chair or cushion to sit on while drawing. Students are responsible for getting themselves to the trailhead. Please bring adequate drinking water. Ages 16+ Required Supplies (Available for purchase at The Crow's Nest) Pencil & Eraser Mixed Media or Watercolour Paper Micron Pen (0.3 recommended) Watercolour paints (primary yellow, red and blue + black) or whatever set you have.
